ACE Marine can trace its origins back to 1792 when the Insurance Company of North America issued its first policy insuring a cargo between Philadelphia and Londonderry. Its first investment in risk management was to engage the services of a tug to assist the vessel carrying the cargo, the "America", out of the Delaware River.

Since then ACE and predecessor companies have issued pamphlets, brochures and the highly regarded publication, "Ports of the World" to assist and educate brokers and clients in the workings of marine cargo insurance and risk management.

Baracuda3 takes this process into the twenty first century, placing over 200 years of experience in marine insurance "on line" and providing a trade zone whereby registered clients and brokers may issue electronic certificates of insurance and lodge cargo claims with their local offices.

Baracuda3 is divided into several sections :

• An introduction to ACE.
• General Information regarding marine insurance, claims and risk management. There is also a facility allowing Brokers to submit a risk electronically to local underwriter using Questionnaire.
• Trade zone - where ACE clients can generate electronic certificates of insurance and access other information.
• Information on other products offered by ACE, which may be of interest to importers and exporters.
